In the Great Commission, Jesus commands us to “make disciples of all nations.” At Brookside, we take this commandment to heart. That’s why we regularly support two full-time missionary teams and send short-term missions teams out into the field every year.

The Fricks

Dr. Larry Frick is the Lexington City Director for City for the Nations. He transitioned into this role in May of 2022. This leadership role is focused on an ongoing coalition of marketplace leaders, pastors, missions leaders, and a prayer movement in Lexington focused on the nation of Nepal. In addition to raising awareness and support for the movement in Lexington, Larry will support the leaders of the movement in Nepal through oversight, coaching, training and strategy development, both virtually and also through leading regular trips to Nepal to support the work there.

This movement launched in 2016 when the coalition in Lexington adopted 57 Unreached, Unengaged People Groups, people groups with little or no known believers, no churches, and no one dedicated to reaching them. Now, the movement has grown into a national movement with the intention of planting a church among the 70,000 unreached villages. Prior to coming to City for the Nations, Larry spent fourteen years serving as Director of Medical Missions for GO InterNational, leading medical teams and starting wholistic community development programs around the world. He is a family physician who also practiced in Chillicothe, Ohio before moving to Kentucky. He lives in Nicholasville, KY with his wife Marci and daughter Hannah who are also involved in their ministry to the nations.

The Youngs

Chad and Elizabeth Young serve as regional directors for campus ministries with Cru in the Southeast region. They are pioneering a new ministry to graduate students at Georgia Tech University. They have been a part of Brookside Church since Chad worked at Pixelle (then Mead) more than 14 years ago helping with the youth, children, and women’s ministries.
